Player Care and Education Officer

About the role

The Player Care and Education Officer provides day‑to‑day support to academy footballers, ensuring their welfare, education and personal development are fully integrated with the club environment. Working closely with the Academy Player Care Manager, the role coordinates logistics, wellbeing initiatives and transition programmes for young athletes.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for academy players on welfare and personal concerns, offering emotional and practical support.
• Coordinate housing, transportation and off‑field logistics to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Collaborate with schools, tutors and educational partners to monitor academic progress and develop personalised education plans.
• Deliver life‑skills workshops covering mental health, financial literacy, social media awareness and personal branding.
• Assist with induction of new players and support transitions between age groups, senior football or external opportunities.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians and club stakeholders to ensure a holistic support system.
