Postdoctoral Fellowship – Global Fellowship Program (2027)

About the role

The KAUST Global Fellowship Program seeks outstanding early‑career scientists and engineers to lead independent research projects at one of the world’s most advanced research campuses. Fellows will join a vibrant international community and have three years to develop bold, original ideas aligned with KAUST’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute an innovative research programme in areas such as Food, Water, Energy, Health, Artificial Intelligence, or Red Sea Exploration.
• Publish high‑impact results in peer‑reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences.
• Collaborate with KAUST faculty, industry partners, and interdisciplinary research teams.
• Mentor graduate students and contribute to the university’s teaching and outreach activities.

Required profile

• Final‑year PhD candidate or PhD graduate (awarded January 2023 or later).
• Up to two first‑author (or joint‑first‑author) peer‑reviewed publications.
• Two referees who can attest to the candidate’s potential for independent research.
• Willingness to relocate to Thuwal, Saudi Arabia (open to all nationalities).

Required skills

What we offer

• Three‑year fixed‑term contract with an annual stipend of USD 75,000.
• Research budget of USD 20,000–40,000 per year, discipline‑dependent.
