About the role
As the Principal - Transport Planning & Mobility, you will play a vital role in our Transport Planning & Mobility department, leading and managing a team of transport planners and mobility designers. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering innovative and sustainable transport solutions for our clients in the Riyadh region.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of transport projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive transport studies, analyses, and assessments to inform project planning and decision‑making.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and government authorities to ensure project success and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and present proposals, reports, and presentations that highlight the benefits and value of our transport planning solutions.
- Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in transport planning and mobility design, incorporating innovative approaches.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team on complex transport planning issues.
- Represent WSP at industry events, conferences, and workshops, promoting our capabilities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or related field (master’s preferred).
- Minimum 12 years of experience in transport planning, mobility design and project management with a proven delivery record.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to mentor a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for building client relationships.
- Proficiency in transport planning software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation and transport modelling tools.
- Deep understanding of transport planning principles, mobility design concepts and sustainable solutions.
- Experience working with government authorities and stakeholders in the Riyadh region (highly advantageous).
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the region as required.
- Organizational and time‑management skills with a proactive, innovative problem‑solving approach.
