Procurement Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Procurement Engineer to lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for civil, construction, fit‑out and architectural projects. The role will support project delivery by sourcing, evaluating and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with specifications, budgets and schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the RFQ/RFP process and conduct commercial and technical evaluations of supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Source, assess and pre‑qualify suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quality, competitiveness and reliability.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and contract conditions to achieve best value.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and site teams to understand procurement requirements and timelines.
• Prepare comparison sheets, procurement reports and recommendation summaries for management approval.
• Monitor procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment and services.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, materials and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Maintain and update supplier databases, procurement records and material tracking logs.
• Resolve procurement‑related issues such as delivery delays, shortages, quality concerns and supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual requirements and project specifications.
• Support budget control initiatives by identifying value engineering and cost optimisation opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 5–8 years of procurement experience within the construction industry, preferably with main contractors.
• Proven experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, fit‑out and civil construction projects.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
