Procurement Operations Senior Manager

About the role

The Procurement Operations Senior Manager leads both local and overseas buyer teams across container and general cargo business lines, securing quality materials, spare parts and capital‑expenditure items while ensuring compliance and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage local and overseas procurement teams for two business lines.
• Oversee sourcing, negotiation, vendor management and contract execution for materials, spare parts and CAPEX.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with governance, arm‑length principles and safety standards.
• Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes and promote structured use of purchase orders.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to optimise the end‑to‑end Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) cycle.
• Develop and maintain reporting dashboards to monitor KPIs, cycle times and performance.
• Maintain strong internal customer relationships and coordinate with stores to manage stock levels.
• Manage diesel, Coast Guard and Mawani permit issuance, renewal and compliance.
• Supervise scrap and obsolete CAPEX disposal, ensuring transparency and value recovery.
• Ensure procurement files are properly documented and stored.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and team‑management experience in a procurement environment.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build effective supplier relationships.
• Advanced knowledge of Procure‑to‑Pay processes and ERP procurement modules.
• Analytical mindset with experience developing reports and dashboards.
• Strong understanding of compliance, safety and permit requirements.
