About the role
UCC KSA is looking for a highly motivated Procurement Team Lead Engineer to drive procurement activities for major construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves leading a dedicated team, shaping sourcing strategies, and ensuring timely, cost‑effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services while upholding quality and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and manage the procurement team to meet departmental objectives.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project budgets and schedules.
- Oversee the full procurement lifecycle: sourcing, pre‑qualification, RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluation, negotiations, purchase orders and contract administration.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Commercial, Cost Control and Project Management to guarantee on‑time delivery.
- Conduct commercial and technical evaluations of suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and contractual conditions.
- Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strategic vendor relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality, delivery and contractual requirements.
- Analyse market trends, material availability and price fluctuations for risk‑aware planning.
- Support tendering and bidding activities through supplier sourcing and commercial evaluations.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, orders and related documentation.
- Prepare procurement reports, KPIs, cost‑saving initiatives and performance analyses for management.
- Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks that could affect project delivery.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- 8–12 years of procurement experience in construction projects.
- Proven experience leading procurement teams and managing large‑scale procurement activities.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management and supply‑chain operations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
- Experience in supplier sourcing, vendor management and commercial evaluations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
