Procurement Team Leader – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Procurement Team Leader with an engineering background to drive procurement activities for large‑scale construction and infrastructure projects. The role involves leading a dedicated team, shaping sourcing strategies, and ensuring the timely, cost‑effective delivery of materials, equipment, and services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage the procurement team to meet departmental objectives.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with project budgets and schedules.
• Oversee the full procurement lifecycle: supplier sourcing, pre‑qualification, RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluation, negotiations, purchase orders and contract administration.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Planning, Commercial, Cost Control and Project Management teams.
• Conduct commercial and technical evaluations of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and contractual conditions.
• Onboard new suppliers and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality compliance and contractual obligations.
• Analyse market trends and pricing fluctuations to support risk‑mitigation planning.
• Prepare procurement reports, KPIs and cost‑saving initiatives for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8–12 years of procurement experience in the construction industry, preferably with main contractors.
• Proven experience leading procurement teams on complex, large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management and supply‑chain operations.
