Project Director – Major Capital Projects (Oil & Gas)

About the role

We are looking for an accomplished Project Director to lead large‑scale capital projects in the Oil & Gas or process industries. This senior engineering role will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality excellence while guiding multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership from project initiation through completion.
• Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Manage planning, execution, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead engineering, procurement, construction, and project‑controls teams.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, performance metrics, and contractual obligations.
• Participate in project development, technical bid evaluations, and strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop high‑performing teams, holding them accountable for deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline (Professional Engineering registration preferred).
• 25+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or Process Industries.
• Proven track record managing mega projects and large multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Middle‑East experience essential; Saudi Arabia experience highly desirable.
