Project Engineer - Civil (Substation)

About the role

We are looking for a Project Engineer – Civil to lead the execution of civil works for 380 kV substation projects in Saudi Arabia. The role involves supervising construction activities, ensuring compliance with Saudi Electricity Company standards, and delivering safe, high‑quality infrastructure on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and control all civil construction tasks at the substation site, including foundations, control building, cable trenches, equipment pads, roads and fencing.
• Review civil designs, drawings and shop drawings and coordinate approvals with engineering consultants and contractors.
• Coordinate with SEC representatives, consultants, contractors and suppliers to maintain project progress.
• Plan and schedule civil works to meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Monitor material quality and workmanship, conduct inspections and enforce QA/QC requirements.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental standards on site.
• Prepare daily progress reports, inspection requests and material approval documentation.
• Assist in resolving technical issues, variations and claims related to civil works.
• Support the Project Manager in progress meetings and provide updates on civil work status.

Required profile

• Experience in EPC substation projects within Saudi Arabia, preferably with exposure to SEC or major utility projects.
• Proven track record of delivering substation civil works safely, on budget and on schedule.
• Immediate availability with SEC approval or a transferable iqama is an advantage.
