Project Engineer

About the role

Buhler Group is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to lead the execution of projects involving the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimisation of Buhler machines and systems for customers in Saudi Arabia. You will act as the main point of contact from hand‑over through to project close‑out, ensuring that each delivery meets technical, safety, and commercial requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned projects after hand‑over from sales, customer service or order management.
• Review contracts, quotations, technical specifications and identify project risks.
• Develop and maintain execution plans covering engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Define, monitor and report on milestones, deliverables, timelines, resources and dependencies.
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors and service providers to ensure smooth execution.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and conduct regular project meetings.
• Support budgeting, cost control, invoicing and payment milestone tracking.
• Identify technical, commercial, schedule, quality and site risks and propose corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in project engineering, service, installation, commissioning, maintenance or industrial project execution.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, costs, milestones, risks and contractual obligations.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, contractors and external service providers.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment, food processing, grain handling, milling or related sectors is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using project‑scheduling tools.
• Basic knowledge of ERP/CRM systems.
