Project Lead Engineer – Primary

About the role

The Project Lead Engineer – Primary will design, communicate and implement operational plans for engineering projects, focusing on gas insulated switchgear (GIS) solutions. You will lead technical support for tendering, execution, and delivery of customer projects while ensuring quality and timely completion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare designs, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and procurement documents for GIS infrastructure.
• Manage project controls, monitor progress against plans, and resolve operational issues to minimise delays.
• Lead technical discussions with customers, handle site queries, and coordinate with supply‑chain for material and equipment procurement.
• Review and approve deliverables, including primary drawings, bill of quantities, and technical documents for transformers.
• Coach junior engineers, apprentices and technicians, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in GIS projects, including design, procurement and commissioning.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
