Project Manager – Power Systems & Substations

About the role

EMAR Saudi for Energy Works is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the execution of power and energy infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia. The role covers the full project lifecycle from engineering through commissioning, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, schedule and quality while complying with Saudi regulations and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the complete lifecycle of power and electrical infrastructure projects from engineering through commissioning and close‑out.
• Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, budgets, procurement strategies and resource allocation.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with National Grid SA, SEC, Saudi Electricity Code, IEC, IEEE and client specifications.
• Manage project risks, technical issues, commercial matters and contractual obligations.
• Monitor progress using project management tools and prepare executive reports for management and clients.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, QA/QC, HSE, procurement and commissioning personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred); PMP certification and SCE registration are a plus.
• 5–10 years of experience in power and electrical infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in a Project Manager role.
• Proven delivery of Greenfield and Brownfield projects for major Saudi utilities and industrial clients.
• Eligibility for approval by National Grid SA.

• Power System Engineering, High Voltage (69kV–132kV) and Medium Voltage (up to 36kV) Substations and Switchgear.
• Protection & Control Systems, Numerical Protection Relays, UPS Systems and Battery Chargers.
• SCADA, IEC 61850 communication, Substation Automation Systems, GIS & AIS Substations.
• Testing & Commissioning, FAT, SAT and energisation activities.
• Project planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
