Project Manager – Roads, Highways & Detour Planning

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager specialized in roads, highways and detour planning to lead major infrastructure projects. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from design review and construction supervision to handover, acting as the key liaison between client, contractors and design consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage road and highway projects from planning through completion.
• Supervise construction activities ensuring compliance with designs, specifications and quality standards.
• Plan, review and coordinate traffic management and detour schemes to minimise disruption.
• Review and approve contractor submittals, work programmes, method statements and progress reports.
• Monitor schedules, costs and risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Oversee contractor payments, variation orders and claims in line with contract conditions.
• Coordinate with authorities, utility providers and stakeholders to resolve interface issues.
• Enforce HSE requirements and quality assurance procedures on site.
• Provide regular progress reporting to client and senior management.
• Guide and mentor site engineers and supervision staff.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in roads, highways and detour/traffic management planning.
• Proven experience in road project engineering and site supervision.
• Working knowledge of the PMC environment, client representation and contract administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of FIDIC or similar contract conditions.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project planning tools such as Primavera P6.
• Proficiency with MS Project.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions.
