QA/QC Engineer – Construction

About the role

The Job Holder will be responsible for ensuring that construction activities, materials, and workmanship comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements. The role requires hands‑on site experience in civil and architectural works, with particular emphasis on finishing works and construction quality inspections, as well as leadership of material‑related activities for architectural and finishing works.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure construction activities, materials and workmanship comply with approved drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Conduct on‑site quality inspections of civil, architectural and finishing works.
• Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, material schedules and technical requirements to identify material needs and compliance criteria.
• Prepare, review and manage material submittals, ensuring timely submission and consultant/client approval.
• Coordinate with consultants, designers, procurement, technical office, QA/QC and construction teams on material selection and approvals.
• Manage material samples, mock‑ups and finishes, overseeing approval processes for architectural and interior works.
• Identify material‑related technical issues, deviations and risks, and propose appropriate solutions.
• Evaluate alternative materials and support value‑engineering while maintaining design intent and quality.
• Provide technical support to procurement in assessing suppliers and material proposals.
• Lead and guide material engineers, allocating workload according to the project schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience in architectural and finishing materials, preferably on hotel or hospitality projects.
• Hands‑on site experience in civil and architectural works with a focus on finishing works and quality inspections.
• Ability to review and verify materials against project specifications, approved drawings and applicable standards.
• Strong coordination skills with consultants, designers, procurement and construction teams.
