QC Inspector - Tank Equipment

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical and energy transition projects, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for tank equipment in Jubail. The inspector performs quality activities according to the project's quality management system, sets up inspection and test plans and records, and coordinates inspections with the client.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and perform inspection of the mechanical (tank) discipline, including inspection of incoming materials, fabrication and erection, and witnessing of tank testing after final erection.
• Generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) with sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
• Prepare or review subcontractor documents such as Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Material Approval Requests (MAR), and approve inspection reports.
• Control inspection status with tools such as an inspection matrix, and coordinate inspections with the client.
• Close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the due date and support the preparation of corrective action plans.
• Act as QC Supervisor in their absence, run toolbox talks to control quality violations, and review and track material submittals.
• Conduct preparatory meetings with subcontractors on tank definable features of work and inspect incoming deliveries visually and by measurement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Certified by API (API 653 and API 510).
• Overall experience of 5 years, with 3 years in inspection specialty or field and 2 years managing the contract scope of work.
• Aramco experience is a must; if you have an Aramco SAP number and passed the CBT, state it in your CV.
• Knowledge of static and rotating mechanical equipment, commodities, materials construction, pre-commissioning and quality activities.

Required skills

• International codes and standards: ASTM, API (650, 653, 620), ASME BPVC Sections I, V, VIII and IX, ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, B73, NACE SPs, AWS D1.1, IEC, NEMA, UL, FM, NFPA.
• Tank engineering: design and construction of storage tanks, application of API 650 and API 653, reading of tank drawings and specifications.
• Inspection and testing of mechanical process systems, including pre-commissioning, and ability to plan and control inspections for medium-scale projects (0.5-1.5 billion dollars).
