Quality Assurance Engineer (Saudi National Only)

About the role

Gathern is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer in Riyadh to support the delivery of reliable, high-performing products. You will work closely with engineers, product managers and designers to validate features, report issues and make sure apps and services meet high quality standards. The role covers both manual and automated testing, participation in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement of testing and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to test features and report issues clearly and efficiently.
• Run manual test cases and help develop automated tests across mobile and backend platforms.
• Validate features during sprints and take part in regression and exploratory testing cycles.
• Document bugs and test results in Jira with clarity and context.
• Take part in sprint planning and backlog grooming from a QA perspective.
• Help improve test coverage and reduce bug leakage.
• Use tools such as Firebase, Datadog and Postman to check backend behaviour, error rates and app stability.

Required profile

• 1 to 3 years of experience in software quality assurance or a similar role.
• Familiarity with Agile software development and testing practices.
• Experience testing mobile applications (iOS and Android) and backend APIs.
• Ability to write clear bug reports and test documentation.
• Fluency in Arabic and good command of English; Saudi nationals only.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of test automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Nice to have: automation frameworks such as Appium, Cypress, knowledge of QA metrics and reporting tools, and familiarity with Jira, GitHub, TestRail.
• Nice to have: exposure to AI-assisted testing tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and GitHub Copilot.
