Quality Assurance Manager (Process Equipment Division)

About the role

Salama Engineering Industries seeks an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead the QA function for its Process Equipment Division in Dammam. The role ensures that all engineering, fabrication, welding, inspection, testing and documentation activities meet ASME, API, ISO 9001 and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the QA/QC function for the PED manufacturing and fabrication facility.
• Develop, implement and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 & 2, Section IX, Section II, API and TEMA standards.
• Oversee quality activities for pressure vessels, shell‑and‑tube heat exchangers and other static/process equipment.
• Review and approve quality plans, ITPs, QCPs, inspection procedures, WPS/PQR/WPQ and related documentation.
• Control quality from raw material receipt through fabrication, fit‑up, welding, NDT, PWHT, hydro‑testing, final inspection and dispatch.
• Coordinate with ASME Authorized Inspectors, third‑party agencies, clients and EPC contractors.
• Manage NCRs, corrective actions, root‑cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Conduct internal, external and customer audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Establish and monitor quality KPIs, identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical fabrication.
• Hands‑on experience with pressure vessel and heat‑exchanger fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 & 2, Section IX, Section II, API and TEMA requirements.
• ISO 9001 certification and ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) mandatory.
• Proven experience dealing with ASME Authorized Inspectors, third‑party inspectors and Oil & Gas clients.
