Quality Engineer – Architectural (Data Centre)

About the role

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer (Architectural) to support construction supervision of hyperscale data centre and mission‑critical infrastructure projects across the Middle East. The role ensures architectural works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, client requirements and applicable codes.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project quality management systems and procedures for architectural works.
• Monitor contractor compliance with Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, method statements and approved specifications.
• Conduct inspections and audits of architectural finishes, building envelope systems, clean‑room environments and fire‑rated assemblies.
• Review material submittals, mock‑ups, shop drawings and samples for compliance with project specifications.
• Coordinate interfaces between architectural, structural, MEP and ICT disciplines to prevent quality defects.
• Prepare and manage NCRs, quality reports, punch‑list closure and hand‑over documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8‑10 years of QA/QC experience in construction, with 3‑5 years on hyperscale or Tier III/IV data centre projects.
• Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor, CQE or PMP are preferred.
• Proven experience inspecting architectural finishes, building envelope, waterproofing, roofing, fire‑stopping and clean‑room systems.
