RAN Planning & Design Architect

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a highly experienced RAN Planning & Design Architect to lead the design, planning and optimisation of radio access networks for enterprise and private deployments. You will work across both outdoor and indoor environments, shaping architecture strategies and ensuring the highest standards of performance and coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end RAN architecture and RF planning for outdoor and indoor sites, defining topology, frequency strategies and capacity frameworks.
• Define comprehensive site requirements, coverage designs and integration specifications with core, transport and OSS domains.
• Design capacity planning strategies for LTE and 5G, including traffic modelling, spectrum utilisation and scalability planning.
• Monitor RAN performance KPIs, drive optimisation and manage acceptance testing to meet defined thresholds.
• Lead RF propagation analysis and optimisation using industry‑leading planning tools, validating predictions against measurements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless end‑to‑end integration throughout the design and deployment lifecycle.
• Support deployment and operational readiness activities, providing technical leadership during site build and handover.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with deep expertise in LTE and 5G radio planning.
• Proven experience in RF optimisation, indoor/outdoor network design and capacity planning.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate modelling results into actionable improvements.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with core, transport and OSS teams.
