Resident Test Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Resident Test Engineer to join our automotive software team in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on hands‑on debugging of HIL benches and vehicle platforms, ensuring high‑quality embedded software delivery for advanced driver assistance and vehicle diagnostics.

Key responsibilities

• Debug and resolve issues on HIL benches and on‑vehicle ECUs.
• Develop and maintain automated test scenarios using Python and popular testing frameworks.
• Support ECU flashing, product testing at customer sites, and integration with build/release processes.
• Provide software quality metrics, traceability, and ensure compliance with coding standards such as MISRA‑C.
• Collaborate with Build and Integration Engineers on software builds, releases, and test execution.
• Take ownership of feature, product, or component quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software development and validation.
• Strong knowledge of automotive standards (MISRA‑C, ASPICE, Scrum) and diagnostic protocols (UDS ISO14229, OBD ISO15765‑2).
• Experience with ADAS or BCM domains is preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and use oscilloscopes for hardware debugging.

• Python, CAPL scripting.
• Version control and code review tools: Git, Gerrit, Jira, Polarion.
• Continuous integration tools: Jenkins.
• Automotive communication protocols: CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, SPI.
• Testing tools: Vector CANoe, HIL Bench.
• Embedded software standards: MISRA‑C, SW Integration and Qualification Testing.
• Domain knowledge: ADAS, Vehicle Diagnostics UDS, OBD ISO15765‑2.
