Rolling Stock Engineer – Railway Systems

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Rolling Stock Engineer to join its Saudi Arabia team delivering advanced rail projects that include at‑grade, elevated and underground sections with fully automated passenger trains. Reporting to the Lead Rolling Stock Engineer, you will ensure technical integrity, safety and seamless integration of rolling stock with signalling, platform screen doors, communications and civil infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Lead Rolling Stock Engineer in delivering project milestones and providing expert technical advice.
• Define and develop interface specifications for supplier designs.
• Coordinate with project controls to monitor design schedules and progress.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Analyse RAMS performance of rolling stock against client specifications.
• Review and approve design‑build contractor submissions for all rolling‑stock subsystems (HVAC, door control, propulsion, auxiliary power, wiring, etc.).
• Facilitate resolution of construction or design issues and ensure smooth system integration.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years (144 months) of experience in rolling‑stock engineering, design and acceptance.
• Proven expertise in delivering rolling‑stock assets for automated rail operations.
• Experience with Bombardier and Siemens rolling‑stock platforms.
• Strong understanding of railway approvals, standards and interface management.
