Sanctions Officer

About the role

The Sanctions Officer at Hala is responsible for conducting sanctions screening and investigations to ensure regulatory compliance and support transaction monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct sanctions name screening for customers, transactions, employees and third parties.
• Analyze alerts, assess match levels and investigate potential matches.
• Execute instructions to stop or suspend transactions when required.
• Update screening records, maintain documentation and implement freezing of accounts upon confirmed matches.
• Review and update approved sanctions lists and support system effectiveness testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in AML/CTF and sanctions.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
