Sanctions Screening Tuning Specialist (FircoSoft)
Capitex · Riyadh
Job description
About the role
A client of Capitex is looking for a hands-on FircoSoft specialist to tune its sanctions screening capability. The role sits within the financial crime compliance function in Riyadh, with relocation and mobilisation fully supported and candidates welcomed from anywhere in the world. Arabic fluency is central to the role, because screening effectiveness in the Saudi market depends on how filters handle Arabic names.
Key responsibilities
- Assess the current FircoSoft configuration: matching algorithms, rules, thresholds, good-guy/exception lists and screening scope across customer and transaction/payment screening.
- Tune filter parameters and matching logic to reduce false positives without compromising sanctions risk coverage, with documented pre- and post-tuning analysis.
- Optimise Arabic name-matching performance: transliteration handling, romanisation variants, name particles and script-conversion behaviour across watchlists and customer data.
- Review list management: sanctions list ingestion, versioning and updates (UN, OFAC, EU, UK and local/SAMA-directed lists) and the governance around exceptions and whitelisting.
- Run above-the-line and below-the-line effectiveness tests of screening outcomes, documenting methodology, results and recommendations.
- Support alert workflow and operating model improvements, including alert quality, hibernation/suppression logic, escalation paths and investigator feedback.
- Coordinate with Compliance, Screening Operations, Technology and the vendor, and present findings to senior stakeholders in Arabic and English as required.
Required profile
- Hands-on FircoSoft tuning experience (filter configuration, matching algorithms, rules and threshold calibration).
- Professional fluency in Arabic and English, with practical experience of Arabic name-screening challenges.
- Strong sanctions compliance knowledge of UN, OFAC, EU and UK regimes and screening obligations.
- Experience of screening effectiveness testing and documentation that can stand up to model validation, audit and regulatory review.
- Banking or financial institution experience, working across Compliance, Operations, Technology and the vendor.
- Preferred: Saudi or wider GCC experience, familiarity with SAMA supervisory expectations, exposure to ISO 20022 / SWIFT MT-MX message screening, complementary screening platforms and SQL, and ACAMS, ICA or equivalent certification.
