Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to lead month‑end and year‑end close processes for a fast‑growing, project‑driven organization. You will ensure accurate, timely financial reporting, manage statutory compliance, and drive the adoption of AI tools to improve efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger in line with IFRS.
• Prepare monthly financial statements with supporting schedules and analysis.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, supplier payments, client invoicing against project milestones and collections.
• Handle project accounting – cost allocation, percentage‑of‑completion revenue recognition and work‑in‑progress reconciliations.
• Lead VAT, withholding tax and zakat filings with ZATCA, including FATOORAH electronic invoicing.
• Oversee payroll accounting, GOSI contributions and end‑of‑service benefit calculations per Saudi labor law.
• Support external audits as primary contact, preparing schedules and addressing queries.
• Manage fixed assets – capitalization, depreciation and verification.
• Leverage AI tools to automate reconciliations, reporting and routine workflows, championing their use across finance.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and documentation as the company scales.
• Mentor junior accountants and review their work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• SOCPA certification required or in progress; CPA or CMA a plus.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in EPC, contracting, energy services or similar project‑based sectors.
• Strong familiarity with Saudi tax, ZATCA, GOSI and labor‑law requirements.
• Hands‑on experience using AI tools for accounting tasks.
