About the role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to lead the fixed‑asset function within our finance team. The role operates with minimal supervision, preparing complex reports and ensuring accurate accounting for asset acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures and controls for the physical verification and review of fixed assets.
- Update and manage the fixed‑asset register, recording acquisitions, disposals, transfers, retirements, depreciation and revaluations.
- Investigate potential impairment conditions and calculate asset retirement obligations.
- Perform financial reviews of asset disposals and support the preparation of specialized ad‑hoc reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures.
- Assist junior team members, resolve escalated issues and promote efficient work practices.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with fixed‑asset management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet operational targets.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting.
