Senior Backend Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join a globally distributed engineering team focused on advanced digital finance and blockchain-powered technologies. The role involves building and maintaining scalable backend systems that power high‑performance financial services used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for a high‑performance financial platform.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Improve and optimise existing Node.js services for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Develop new integrations with distributed services and micro‑service architectures using RPC calls.
• Write and optimise complex queries for relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Contribute to platform scalability initiatives to ensure real‑time responsiveness.
• Apply strong security principles to protect infrastructure, transactions and user data.
• Participate in Agile processes, code reviews, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js backend development.
• Proven experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Background in building large‑scale platforms or applications.
• Solid experience with MySQL and MongoDB.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of backend security and secure API development.
