Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to take technical ownership of an existing platform and drive its continued development. This hands‑on role will involve reviewing the current architecture, writing clean code, and establishing engineering standards as the team expands.

Key responsibilities

• Review and understand the existing architecture, codebase, and technical environment.
• Identify priority technical issues and manage technical debt.
• Develop and maintain backend services using NestJS and TypeScript.
• Design, develop, document, and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Design and maintain reliable database schemas and data structures.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and user permission systems.
• Develop and maintain integrations with external systems and services.
• Write, test, and review clean and maintainable code.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support deployment and production operations.
• Translate product requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Establish clear standards for coding, testing, documentation, code review, and releases.
• Provide technical guidance to future engineering team members.

Required profile

• At least four years of professional experience in backend or software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to understand, maintain, and improve an existing codebase.
• Ability to work independently and make practical, well‑documented technical decisions.
