Senior Buyer – Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to lead sourcing and purchasing activities across key categories. The role involves building strong supplier relationships, ensuring on‑time delivery, and driving cost‑saving initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to secure supply continuity, quality, and competitive pricing.
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and continuously monitor supplier performance, addressing any quality or delivery issues.
• Create and issue purchase orders, track confirmations, and verify pricing and terms in line with company policy.
• Lead negotiations on price, lead times, payment terms, and service levels to achieve cost reductions and improve total cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with demand planning and warehouse teams to optimise inventory levels, reduce excess stock, and prevent stockouts.
• Work cross‑functionally with product, quality, logistics, and finance teams to align procurement with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements while mitigating supply risks.
• Prepare regular spend, supplier performance, and market trend reports to support data‑driven sourcing decisions.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase procurement efficiency and transparency.

Required profile

• 5+ years of procurement, buying, or category management experience, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven negotiation track record with measurable cost‑saving results.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret spend data and supplier metrics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
