Senior Corporate Counsel

About the role

Microsoft is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to join its Middle East Legal Affairs team in Riyadh. The role sits at the intersection of law, technology and large‑scale digital transformation programmes across the Saudi market and potentially other Middle East countries.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the lead Legal Affairs lawyer for Saudi Arabia, advising senior business, sales and subsidiary leaders on complex Cloud and AI matters.
• Provide proactive advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory and compliance issues, including data protection, AI regulation, data‑centre and financial services requirements.
• Support public sector transactions, government contracting, procurement and strategic partnerships from early engagement through post‑sales.
• Identify and mitigate legal, geopolitical and reputational risks, manage disputes and regulatory engagements, and coordinate with CELA specialist teams.

Required profile

• Law degree with qualification to practise in a recognised jurisdiction and at least 7 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Professional fluency in written, spoken and reading Arabic and English.
• Proven experience advising on public sector transactions, government contracting and complex commercial agreements.
• Strong analytical, written communication and leadership abilities, with a high tolerance for ambiguity.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of technology‑related regulatory frameworks, including Cloud, AI, data protection and competition law.
• Ability to draft, negotiate and review complex commercial contracts and public procurement documents.
