Senior Design Manager - Planning and Design

About the role

Qiddiya is looking for a Senior Design Manager for its Planning and Design function in Riyadh. The role supports development project teams with design-related activities such as design strategies, schedules and design guidelines, ensuring adherence to the overall master plan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and ensure implementation of design guidelines for all development projects, in coordination with the Design Director.
• Ensure the design plan is developed and implemented so that design goals for assigned projects are achieved.
• Advise the leadership team on design consultant candidates, covering initial outreach, RFP development, contract execution and contract administration.
• Support project teams in developing design strategies and help design, development and construction teams with schedules, budgets and plans.
• Run periodic internal design reviews to keep work aligned with the master plan and take corrective action when needed.
• Review design deliverables and recommend improvements to meet quality standards and strategic objectives.
• Coordinate multiple consultants from pre-concept through execution to align with Qiddiya's master plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 7 years of experience in design management, architecture, urban planning, master planning or large-scale mixed-use development projects.
• Knowledge of master planning, urban design guidelines, design governance frameworks and design quality assurance processes.
• Excellent consultant management and negotiation skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage several projects and competing priorities at once.
