Senior Dry Utilities Engineer - Design

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design and delivery of dry utilities networks for large infrastructure projects in the GCC. The role involves planning, designing and engineering power, substation, street lighting, renewable energy and telecommunications systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, including MV/LV power, substations, street lighting and telecom networks.
• Assemble, analyse and report project data and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture.
• Lead and mentor a high‑performing engineering team.
• Provide technical expertise and support throughout design, construction and commissioning phases.
• Coordinate utility approvals and obtain authority permits for major developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in dry utilities engineering, preferably on UAE/GCC infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record leading complex multidisciplinary utilities projects.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, substations, street lighting, telecommunications, ICT and security infrastructure.
• Experience with utility coordination and authority approvals.
• Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills.
• Leadership, stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness.
• Experience with sustainable infrastructure, renewable integration or smart‑city projects is a plus.
