Senior Engineer - Structural

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Structural to lead structural oversight on large‑scale urban master‑plan projects in Jeddah. The role involves ensuring compliance with design specifications, local codes, and safety standards across high‑rise and multi‑building developments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive structural inspection programmes, covering foundations, bridges, underpasses, culverts and retaining walls.
• Verify reinforcement placement, formwork, post‑tensioning, grouting and concrete sequencing on high‑rise projects.
• Review and approve temporary works designs such as falsework, scaffolding and shoring systems.
• Coordinate with designers, architects and authorities to resolve code and design discrepancies.
• Supervise inspection teams, conduct progress meetings and audit inspections for contract compliance.
• Issue Non‑Conformance Reports and manage corrective actions to maintain quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 12 years of experience on large‑scale urban master‑plan projects with high‑rise construction.
• Proven experience on major structural projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Codes and local authority standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software and structural analysis tools.
• Expertise in quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Knowledge of temporary works design, falsework, scaffolding and shoring systems.
• Familiarity with Saudi Building Codes and local regulatory requirements.
