Senior Instrument Technician – Construction & Maintenance

About the role

The Senior Instrument Technician will support instrumentation activities throughout construction, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance phases at our Jubail plant. The role ensures reliable, accurate, and safe operation of all instrumentation systems while complying with company standards and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute installation, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation equipment.
• Read, interpret, and modify P&IDs, loop diagrams, specification sheets, and hook‑up drawings.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain field instruments such as pressure, flow, level, and temperature transmitters, as well as control valves.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in control systems, including PLCs and machine monitoring systems (e.g., Bentley Nevada).
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on control valves, gauges, and analyzers.
• Ensure compliance with permit‑to‑work, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Use and maintain instrumentation tools, fittings, and testing equipment effectively.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient execution of projects and maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Diploma in instrumentation or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in the petrochemical or oil & gas sector.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities in instrumentation and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• High attention to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.
