Senior Java Developer – Enterprise Web Applications

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to maintain, support, and enhance critical enterprise web applications. The role blends hands‑on development with production support, incident resolution, and knowledge transfer in a business‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, maintain, and enhance Java web applications built with Struts, JSF, PrimeFaces, JSP, and Servlets.
• Investigate incidents across application, database, integration, and deployment layers, performing root‑cause analysis and documenting fixes.
• Develop and implement enhancements while assessing dependencies and regression risks.
• Coordinate testing, deployment, release validation, and post‑release verification.
• Write, troubleshoot, and optimise Oracle SQL and PL/SQL queries; resolve database‑related issues.
• Maintain reporting solutions using JasperReports/Jasper Studio.
• Support and troubleshoot REST APIs and integrations using JSON and XML.
• Deploy and support applications on Oracle WebLogic and Tomcat, handling configuration and runtime issues.
• Provide production support during critical operating periods and collaborate with QA, DB, Infrastructure, Security, and functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience developing, maintaining, and supporting Java enterprise web applications, including legacy, production‑critical systems.

Required skills

• Java 8 / JDK 8, Object‑Oriented Programming, MVC architecture.
• Web technologies: JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, AJAX.
• Frameworks: Struts 1.1, JSF 2.2, PrimeFaces 5.5.
• Database: Oracle 19c, complex SQL, PL/SQL, JasperReports/Jasper Studio.
• Application servers: Oracle WebLogic 14, Tomcat, (experience with JBoss/GlassFish a plus).
• REST APIs, JSON, XML.
• Version control: Git, CVSNT.
• IDE experience: Eclipse, NetBeans.
• Additional: Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, Oracle ADF, JSTL.
