About the role
The Senior Lab Equipment Maintenance Engineer provides expert service and support for high‑end laboratory research equipment, focusing on liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry systems. The role involves field repairs, preventive maintenance, calibrations, and user training to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
Key responsibilities
- Respond quickly to maintenance and troubleshooting requests for LC/MS instruments.
- Perform repairs, calibrations, alignments, and preventive maintenance according to SOPs.
- Coordinate with end‑users to schedule service visits and minimize downtime.
- Maintain relationships with equipment manufacturers and vendors to secure support and training.
- Identify required spare parts, manage stock levels, and assist with ordering.
- Provide detailed, clear communications to end‑users regarding service actions.
- Mentor junior maintenance personnel and share knowledge across the team.
- Deliver occasional user‑training sessions on equipment operation and best practices.
Required profile
- At least 84 months (7 years) of experience maintaining laboratory equipment, preferably LC/MS systems.
- Proven ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
- Strong understanding of safety and HSE policies in a research environment.
