Senior Legal Counsel - Data Privacy & Technology Contracts

About the role

Devsinc is looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team in Riyadh. The role suits someone with hands-on expertise in technology contracts, data privacy and intellectual property, advising on SaaS agreements, GDPR/CCPA compliance, open-source licensing and M&A transactions within complex, cross-cultural corporate environments.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate technology agreements such as SaaS, EULAs, Master Service Agreements, Software Licensing, Cloud, OEM and Joint Development Agreements, and lead negotiations with enterprise clients, vendors, data providers and resellers.
• Review RFP terms and advise business teams on legal and contractual risk, and maintain contract templates, playbooks and SOPs.
• Lead the Data Governance Framework, manage the Data Protection Officer function and drive GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and HIPAA compliance, including training, data subject requests and breach response.
• Align data practices with ISO 27001, NIST and SOC standards.
• Advise on IP strategy, patent analytics and open-source licensing (GPL, LGPL, MIT, BSD, Apache), and handle trademarks.
• Support due diligence and risk assessment for M&A and strategic partnerships, and work with external counsel on cross-border transactions.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent law degree; postgraduate or specialization in IP or technology law is an advantage.
• CIPP-US, CIPP/E or equivalent from IAPP highly preferred.
• Minimum 6-8 years after qualification in technology law, including at least 3 years in-house.
• Experience with large multinational companies and proven track record in complex technology contract negotiation.
• Hands-on experience implementing data privacy programs under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and HIPAA.
