Senior Maintenance RIG Electrician

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Maintenance RIG Electrician to support a high‑profile oil and gas project in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment on drilling rigs and associated facilities, ensuring reliable power delivery and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance on power distribution systems, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, generators and electric motors.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, short circuits and power failures using voltage, current and continuity testing.
• Maintain and calibrate PLCs, VFDs and SCADA systems, ensuring proper operation.
• Enforce HSE regulations and adhere to IEC, NEC, ATEX and API standards for hazardous‑area installations.
• Lead, mentor and train junior electricians and technicians on best practices and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation and operations teams, and produce detailed logs and reports of all work performed.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Electrical Maintenance.
• Minimum 8 years of oil‑and‑gas electrical maintenance experience, including at least 5 years as a senior electrician.
• Hands‑on experience with ABB, Siemens, Schneider, GE or similar equipment.
• Experience on drilling rigs, on‑shore platforms or production facilities.
• Relevant certifications such as H2S Awareness, Rig Pass/IADC, BOSIET/HUET, CompEx/ATEX, OSHA/NEBOSH are preferred.
