Senior Project Controls Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Manager to lead and manage project controls functions across major construction and infrastructure projects. The role will establish and maintain robust systems covering planning, scheduling, cost management, risk, change management, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall Project Controls function, integrating planning, cost, risk, change, progress measurement, and reporting activities.
• Develop, review and maintain integrated master schedules, baseline programmes, recovery programmes and detailed execution schedules.
• Monitor project progress against approved baselines, identify schedule slippage, critical‑path issues and potential delays.
• Manage cost control activities including budgets, commitments, actual costs, forecasts, cash flow and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
• Coordinate with Commercial and Contracts teams on variations, claims and change orders and assess their impact on cost and schedule.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and executive‑level project controls reports and dashboards, providing analysis of schedule performance, cost trends, risks and forecasts.
• Maintain project risk registers, facilitate quantitative and qualitative risk assessments and monitor mitigation actions.
• Lead and mentor Project Controls Engineers, Planners, Cost Engineers and other controls personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of project controls experience, with at least 10 years on major building projects for a PMC, Tier‑1 contractor or consultancy.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims and commercial interfaces.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Power BI, dashboards and data visualization.
• Familiarity with earned‑value management, forecasting and performance measurement tools.
