Senior Purchasing & Localization Director – Automotive

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Purchasing & Localization Director to lead automotive procurement for a Tier 1 manufacturer in Jeddah. Reporting to the COO, you will shape sourcing strategy, drive supplier localization and ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality supply for our production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute end‑to‑end strategic sourcing plans aligned with global operational and financial goals.
• Lead localization initiatives by identifying, onboarding and mentoring Saudi‑based suppliers.
• Oversee supplier evaluation, negotiation and relationship management for high‑volume components such as injection‑molded parts, painted components and assemblies.
• Negotiate complex commercial agreements, pricing structures and contractual terms to optimise cost competitiveness and mitigate risk.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and launch teams to support program introductions and product launches.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of procurement and supply‑chain experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of high‑volume automotive sourcing and supplier development, preferably in a Tier 1 environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence across multicultural, matrixed organisations.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Tier 1 ERP and procurement systems (SAP, Oracle or equivalents).
• Professional procurement certifications such as CPSM, Lean or Six Sigma are highly advantageous.
