Senior Software Engineer - Protection

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Protection to join a fast‑growing payments platform. Based in Saudi Arabia, you will work remotely on high‑impact backend services that power global transaction processing, ensuring reliability, security and scalability at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop core backend services for distributed, high‑performance payment systems.
• Own critical architectural decisions and drive long‑term scalability and operational excellence.
• Write clean, well‑tested code applying modern practices such as TDD and BDD.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful features.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and continuously improve engineering standards and workflows.
• Produce clear technical documentation to support team alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience building complex backend systems in distributed environments.
• Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from design to production operations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote, cross‑functional setting.
• Prior exposure to payments or financial infrastructure is a plus.

Required skills

• Python (or similar modern backend language).
• Backend development and API design.
• Distributed systems and high‑performance architecture.
• Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD).
