Senior Specialist Anesthesiologist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Specialist Anesthesiologist to deliver high‑standard clinical care in anesthesia, supporting consultants and leading quality improvement within the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for admitted surgical patients.
• Conduct initial assessments, order investigations, diagnose, and develop treatment plans within granted privileges.
• Prescribe and administer medications and therapies under consultant supervision.
• Monitor patient condition continuously across shifts and document progress notes promptly.
• Perform independent rounds at least once per shift and respond to urgent calls.
• Assist consultants during surgical procedures and accompany them on rounds.
• Document complete medical records, discharge summaries, and reports in the electronic health system.
• Participate in emergency code responses and adhere to hospital policies and clinical pathways.
• Lead and coordinate nursing, therapy, and resident activities related to patient care.
• Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives and serve on committees.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in anesthesiology.
• Board certification or equivalent qualification in anesthesia.
• Proven experience in delivering anesthesia services in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a consultant and follow hospital privileges.
• Familiarity with hospital quality improvement processes and clinical guidelines.
• Commitment to Islamic values and medical ethics as stated by the institution.
