Senior Specialist, Machining Center

About the role

The Senior Specialist, Machining Center will operate and maintain composite and metal 3D printer systems to support prototype part manufacturing and advanced research projects. The role involves developing process controls, optimizing material usage, and managing turnkey projects for internal customers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate industrial metal and composite 3D printers, preparing, slicing and optimizing build files using CAD and slicing software (Siemens NX, 3Dxpert).
• Monitor machine performance, conduct part inspection, calibration and post‑processing (de‑powdering, heat treatments).
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and troubleshooting of electromechanical components.
• Collaborate with process engineers to improve print strategies, build orientation and support generation.
• Optimize process parameters for better performance and ensure safety and quality compliance with ATEX standards.
• Manage material inventory, support material selection and development activities.
• Plan, develop and execute turnkey jobs, coordinating with internal customers to meet specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience operating industrial metal 3D printers.
• Proven experience in additive manufacturing and prototype production.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of CAD/CAM software, preferably Siemens NX.
• Experience with additive manufacturing software and technologies (e.g., 3Dxpert).
• Knowledge of electromechanical systems, including drives, actuators and motion control.
• Experience in post‑processing operations such as de‑powdering and heat treatment.
• Familiarity with CNC and conventional machining (a plus).
