Senior Staff Engineer – Resilience Engineering Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer to lead our Resilience Engineering initiatives in Riyadh. The role focuses on defining and executing a chaos engineering strategy across hybrid on‑prem and cloud environments, ensuring our systems can withstand failures and meet reliability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the chaos engineering roadmap and strategy.
• Design and implement multi‑layer chaos experiments covering infrastructure, network, and application layers.
• Mentor engineers on resilience and chaos practices.
• Standardize frameworks for automated chaos testing and drive their adoption across teams.
• Collaborate with architecture groups to embed resilience into system designs.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets aligned with reliability goals.
• Lead game‑day events and failure simulations.
• Advance observability maturity through metrics, tracing, and logging initiatives.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
• Proven expertise in chaos engineering and building custom chaos platforms.
• Strong programming background, preferably in Python or Go.
• Experience with on‑prem distributed systems, networking, and failure injection.
• Leadership ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive a resilience‑first culture.
