Senior Tech Lead

About the role

We are scaling a leading home‑services marketplace and need a Senior Tech Lead to own the platform architecture, raise engineering standards, and drive rapid growth. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will shape technical direction from the ground up while actively contributing code.

Key responsibilities

• Design, evolve, and own the architecture for marketplace and SaaS products, including matching logic, transaction flows, multi‑tenant infrastructure, and customer‑facing APIs.
• Lead by example: write production code, troubleshoot critical bugs, and ship high‑impact features alongside the team.
• Mentor engineers, set technical standards, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and foster a high‑performance engineering culture.
• Make strategic decisions on building vs. buying, refactoring, and prioritising work to balance velocity with long‑term health.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous goals into clear technical road‑maps.
• Scale performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through observability, CI/CD, cloud architecture, and incident response.
• Define and champion AI‑assisted development practices, leveraging LLMs and coding tools to accelerate delivery.
• Participate in hiring to grow the engineering team.

Required profile

• 8+ years of production software development experience.
• 2–3+ years leading engineers as a tech lead, staff engineer, or engineering manager.
• Proven track record building and scaling marketplace or SaaS platforms.
• Experience in fast‑growth startups (seed to Series C) navigating rapid scaling and technical debt.
