Senior Utilities Design Engineer – Dry

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Utilities Engineer to lead design services for dry utility projects in Saudi Arabia. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure utility designs are accurate, coordinated, and compliant with project and authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review external utility designs for overhead and underground electrical networks, HV/MV/LV cables, fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure, and street lighting systems.
• Identify conflicts and interface issues in plans submitted by design‑build contractors, developers, and utility providers.
• Assess utility conflicts, define interface requirements, and prioritize critical issues for project execution.
• Investigate field issues arising from utility relocations and infrastructure modifications, and report impacts to stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers.
• Support lead utilities engineer in coordination meetings with utility providers, contractors, and developers.
• Prepare technical reports, assessments, and recommendations related to utility coordination and design.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years (96 months) of experience in utilities engineering and design.
• Proven ability to review and coordinate complex utility designs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in a construction environment.
