Senior Utilities Engineer (Design)

About the role

10 Design, part of Egis Group, is an international architecture and master planning practice founded in 2010, with offices in several cities and a team of 380 architects and designers. It is seeking a Senior Utilities Engineer (Design) to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The engineer leads the design and development of comprehensive utilities systems for complex projects, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically sound, compliant and efficient designs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop utilities infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC and plumbing components
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications and design documentation using industry-standard software
• Carry out feasibility studies, load calculations and cost-benefit analyses for utilities systems
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, contractors and stakeholders to align design with project objectives
• Ensure designs comply with Saudi Arabian and international codes, standards and regulations
• Manage design revisions, documentation control, quality assurance reviews and validation of deliverables
• Take part in project planning, scheduling and resource allocation, and analyse system performance to recommend optimisation
• Mentor junior engineers and help improve design processes

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional experience in utilities engineering design and project delivery
• Proven expertise in PMCM (Project Management and Construction Management) methodologies
• Demonstrated experience with project management software and tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and excellent written and verbal English
• Leadership experience and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian construction standards and regulations is preferred

• Advanced CAD (AutoCAD) and BIM (Revit)
• Irrigation, firefighting, potable water, diversion/utility protection, sewage and drainage systems
