Shop Operator - Rotor Repairs

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Shop Operator to join our Industrial & Energy Technology team. You will work in a dedicated service shop, handling inspection, repair, and maintenance of high‑value rotating equipment such as centrifugal compressors, pumps, gas turbine rotors, and gear shafts.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and repair centrifugal compressor rotors, centrifugal pump rotors, gas turbine rotors, and gear shafts.
• Perform visual, geometrical, and non‑destructive testing (NDT) inspections and record results on data sheets.
• Control quality of in‑process parts and ensure proper product preservation.
• Raise HSE observations and follow safety targets.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on machine tools, complete daily checklists, and report fixture and tooling performance.
• Evaluate new fixture designs, perform rigidity testing, and support lean‑manufacturing improvement projects.
• Maintain 6S housekeeping standards for machines, workstations, and surrounding areas.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with hands‑on experience operating mechanical machines.
• At least 5 years of repair experience on rotating equipment and 10 years in manufacturing or service shops.
• Experience de‑stacking and stacking compressor or pump rotors; gas‑turbine rotor experience preferred.
• Knowledge of total run‑out testing and ISO quality requirements.
• Ability to perform balancing, testing, and quality control activities.

Required skills

• Visual, geometrical, and non‑destructive inspection.
• Repair and balancing of centrifugal compressors, pumps, gas turbine rotors, and gear shafts.
• Operation of manual or CNC lathe machines.
• Operation of low‑speed horizontal balancing machines.
• Preventive maintenance of machine tools.
• Implementation of total run‑out tests.
