Smart City Engineer II – Entry Level (Tamheer)

About the role

The Smart City Engineer II supports the planning, design, coordination and implementation of Smart City systems and digital infrastructure across development projects. Working under senior guidance, the role integrates ICT/ELV networks, IoT platforms and smart urban technologies to deliver connected, efficient and sustainable environments.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate Smart City system designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions from consultants and vendors.
• Verify compliance with approved technical standards, Smart City strategies, reference architectures and project requirements.
• Identify design gaps, technical issues and coordination conflicts, and support their resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, planners, designers, contractors and technology vendors.
• Stay informed of emerging Smart City technologies, tools and industry best practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Smart City standards, templates, tools and delivery processes.
• Support implementation readiness and track technical deliverables, milestones and issues across all project phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
• No prior professional experience required; eligible for the Tamheer graduate program.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ICT/ELV network concepts.
• Familiarity with IoT platforms and smart urban technology integration.
