SMO Execution Manager

About the role

The SMO Execution Manager drives the execution of the organization’s strategic initiatives, ensuring they align with corporate objectives, governance standards, and delivery timelines. This role works closely with business units and senior leadership to monitor performance, manage risks, and deliver measurable benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution and monitoring of strategic initiatives and transformation programs.
• Develop and maintain the SMO execution framework, methodologies, and governance processes.
• Track progress of initiatives, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and timelines are met.
• Coordinate with business units and project owners to resolve execution issues and remove obstacles.
• Prepare executive dashboards, strategy execution reports, and presentations for senior management.
• Monitor KPIs, strategic objectives, and initiative performance against targets.
• Identify execution risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, recommending mitigation plans.
• Facilitate governance meetings, portfolio reviews, and strategy execution committees.
• Ensure alignment between initiatives, budgets, and organizational priorities.
• Support benefits realization by measuring outcomes and impact of strategic initiatives.
• Promote best practices in strategy execution, portfolio management, and performance monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement of SMO processes, reporting, and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in strategy execution, program management, or a related discipline.
