Software Engineering Intern

About the role

As a Software Engineering Intern at Lean, you will ship real enhancements to the financial infrastructure used by clients across the Middle East. You will work on Java Spring Boot services running on Kubernetes and use AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements from ticket to production with mentor review.
• Use Claude Code to improve quality and velocity, and help establish best practices for the team.
• Participate in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback.
• Learn the team’s tools, languages, and workflows quickly to deliver early results.
• Attend stand‑ups, planning, and reviews, flagging risks promptly.
• Understand client needs, end‑users, and the regulated environment.
• Engage in company events, demos, and cross‑team collaborations.

Required profile

• Final‑year student or graduate (within 12 months) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Hands‑on experience with agentic coding tools (Claude Code) and good judgment on their output.
• Proficiency in at least one language such as Java, C++, or Python.
• Fundamental knowledge of version control, testing, and debugging.
• Evidence of personal projects, hackathon entries, open‑source contributions, or prior internships.
• Strong problem‑solving and clear written communication skills.
